PRKAB1-AS1 is a long non-coding antisense RNA gene transcribed from the opposite strand of the genomic locations encoding PRKAB1, TMEM233, and CCDC60. It belongs to the lncRNA class and is presumed to regulate the expression of these genes by base pairing to their RNA transcripts, influencing transcription, translation, and epigenetic states. While antisense RNAs play important regulatory roles and are being explored for therapeutic applications, PRKAB1-AS1 itself is not recognized as a conventional therapeutic target in current databases and literature. No interacting drugs, direct mechanisms of action, or biomarker/safety data specific to PRKAB1-AS1 have been established.
