These DUBs, including Rpn11, USP14, and UCHL5/UCH37, play a crucial role in removing ubiquitin chains from substrates before their degradation, ensuring efficient recycling of ubiquitin molecules. They are essential for maintaining cellular protein homeostasis and are implicated in various diseases, including cancer.
