Protocadherin gamma subfamily A, 3 is a member of the protocadherin gamma gene cluster, tandemly linked on chromosome 5, and encodes a neural cadherin-like cell adhesion protein. Its structure, with multiple cadherin ectodomains and a transmembrane region, facilitates calcium-dependent cell adhesion vital for the specificity of neural connections in the brain. PCDHGA3 is broadly expressed in the nervous system, is upregulated in follicular lymphoma (serving as a diagnostic marker), and may play broader roles in neurodevelopment and cancer biology, including modulation of cell proliferation[1][2][3][5].
