Target intelligence / Profile preview
This target is a pseudogene with similarity to a region of the major histocompatibility complex, class I-related (MR1) gene, which encodes a non-classical MHC class I protein integral to antigen presentation to mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells in the functional gene context. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble genes but are not translated into functional proteins. The functional MR1 is involved in microbial metabolite antigen presentation and is a focus of immunological and therapeutic research. This pseudogene, however, does not produce a functional product and is not relevant as a therapeutically actionable target[3][1].
