Target intelligence / Profile preview
Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, isozyme 3 pseudogene (ENSG00000258962, also known as LOC100128939), is a non-coding genomic element annotated as a pseudogene. While it shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding PDK3 gene, it does not produce a functional protein and has no known physiological or pathological role. It is not a therapeutic target. The functional PDK3 gene, distinct from this pseudogene, encodes an enzyme that regulates glucose metabolism; the pseudogene has no such activity[4].
