RAB28, member RAS oncogene family pseudogene 1 (abbreviated RAB28P1) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome. It is located on chromosome 9. As a pseudogene, RAB28P1 does not produce a functional protein and is not believed to participate in biological pathways, disease processes, or therapeutic mechanisms. The name reflects its similarity to RAB28, a gene belonging to the Rab subfamily of Ras-related small GTPases, but RAB28P1 itself does not encode an active protein nor serve as a drug target.
