Overview
RON (Recepteur d'Origine Nantais) is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the MET family. It is activated by its ligand, Hepatocyte Growth Factor-Like protein (HGFL)/Macrophage Stimulating Protein (MSP), leading to downstream signaling through PI3K/AKT, MAPK, Ras, Src, and β-catenin pathways. RON plays a role in cell proliferation, survival, motility, invasion, and inflammation. Overexpression or aberrant activation of RON is implicated in various cancers, making it a potential therapeutic target.
