Retinoic acid receptor responder (tazarotene induced) 2 pseudogene 8 (RARRES2P8) is a processed, noncoding pseudogene in the human genome[3][7]. It is annotated based on sequence similarities to the protein-coding gene RARRES2 (Chemerin), but unlike its parent gene, RARRES2P8 does not code for a functional protein[3][1]. As with many pseudogenes, its biological significance is unclear: while many are transcriptionally silent, some pseudogenes can be transcribed into RNA and may participate in regulation of their parent genes or cellular pathways via RNA-mediated mechanisms (such as acting as microRNA decoys, sources for endogenous siRNAs, or competitors for mRNA-binding proteins)[4]. Currently, there is no evidence that RARRES2P8 encodes a protein, serves as a biomarker, is directly implicated in any disease, interacts with drugs, or constitutes a recognized pharmaceutical target[3][4][7]. In summary: RARRES2P8 is a human processed pseudogene, not a drug target, and has no established function or associated pharmacology in the current literature[3][7][4].
