Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, 5S ribosomal pseudogene 376 (RNA5SP376) is classified as a non-coding RNA pseudogene related to the 5S ribosomal RNA gene family.[3][4] Pseudogenes like RNA5SP376 arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically do not encode functional RNA molecules, but may occasionally be transcribed and produce RNA with regulatory functions.[2] These may act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or influence gene regulation by miRNA sponging or lncRNA generation, but there is no evidence for direct involvement in protein synthesis or as targets for therapeutic intervention.[2][6]
