RNA, 5S ribosomal pseudogene 41 (RNA5SP41) is a member of the pseudogene family derived from the highly-conserved 5S ribosomal RNA gene. 5S rRNA itself is a small non-coding RNA universally present in the large ribosomal subunit, critical for ribosome assembly and function in all life forms[1][5][7]. By contrast, pseudogenes like RNA5SP41 result from duplication and mutation events that render them nonfunctional for ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. Most pseudogenes are transcriptionally silent or rapidly degraded, though a subset can be transcribed and influence gene regulation through RNA interference or competition for regulatory molecules[8]. There is currently no evidence that RNA5SP41 has a direct biological or pharmacological role, nor is it a therapeutic target or recognized biomarker.
