RNA5SP513 is a processed pseudogene of the human 5S ribosomal RNA family, catalogued as a non-coding RNA sequence with no known protein-coding potential[4][5][6]. Pseudogenes such as RNA5SP513 result from retrotransposition events where an RNA transcript is reverse-transcribed and reinserted into the genome; they typically lack regulatory elements or functional exons, and therefore do not produce functional RNA or protein products[2][6]. Unlike canonical 5S rRNA, which contributes structurally and functionally to the ribosome and to protein synthesis[1][3], RNA5SP513 is an inactive genomic element and is not integrated or required for ribosome assembly. There is no evidence supporting a role of RNA5SP513 in disease, response to drugs, or as a biomarker for medical diagnostics or therapeutics[5][6].
