Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, 5S ribosomal pseudogene 95 (RNA5SP95), is a pseudogene related to the 5S ribosomal RNA gene family. Unlike functional 5S rRNA, which is an essential structural RNA component of the ribosome, this pseudogene is not translated nor functional in ribosome assembly or protein synthesis. Pseudogenes of ribosomal RNA genes are widespread in the human genome, usually as non-functional remnants of gene duplication events. While some pseudogenes can produce regulatory RNAs affecting related genes, there is no specific functional or therapeutic relevance reported for RNA5SP95. Therefore, it is not considered a drug target or biomarker, and it is not involved in any mechanism of drug action or known safety concerns[2][6].
