Overview

RN7SKP110 is a pseudogene in the human genome that shares sequence homology with the functional RNA, 7SK small nuclear (RN7SK) gene. Unlike the parent RN7SK gene, which codes for a small nuclear RNA involved in regulation of transcription elongation by controlling the activity of positive transcription elongation factor (P-TEFb)[1][4][5], RN7SKP110 does not encode a functional RNA or protein and has no known biological activity. Pseudogenes are generally remnants of genes that have lost their capacity to produce functional products through evolutionary mutations; RN7SKP110 fits this categorization and is annotated as a non-functional locus. As a result, RN7SKP110 is not considered a therapeutic target and has no known impact on disease or drug interactions. Note: If the intent is to find information about the functional molecule involved in transcriptional regulation, that would be the RNA, 7SK small nuclear (RN7SK), not the pseudogene RN7SKP110. RN7SK RNA is involved in transcriptional regulation by controlling the activity of P-TEFb, a key transcription elongation factor[1][4][5]. The pseudogene RN7SKP110 does not perform these biological functions. For structured data or therapeutic targeting, RN7SKP110 should generally be excluded unless pseudogene-specific research is relevant[2][3].
