RN7SK pseudogene 3 (RN7SKP3) is a predicted non-functional pseudogene derived from the RN7SK small nuclear RNA gene, which is a critical regulator of transcription elongation. Pseudogenes generally arise through duplication or retrotransposition events and lack protein-coding potential or distinct regulatory roles. No functional involvement, disease association, or drug interactions have been attributed to RN7SKP3. The parent molecule, RN7SK, is a highly conserved non-coding RNA that participates in the negative regulation of transcription elongation by sequestering P-TEFb, but these functions are not shared by the pseudogene[2][4].
