Overview

RN7SKP33 is a pseudogene derived from the 7SK small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene family. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences resembling functional genes but generally lack coding or functional potential due to mutations or interruptions in their sequence[4]. The functional 7SK RNA is a ubiquitous, noncoding RNA (approximately 330 nucleotides) involved in the regulation of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb), thereby controlling RNA polymerase II transcriptional elongation[1][2][3]. 7SK pseudogenes like RN7SKP33 do not produce a functional RNA or protein product, and there is no known biological role, mechanism of action, or disease association for RN7SKP33 itself in current scientific literature[4]. Any discussions of function or therapeutic relevance should focus on the active RN7SK gene, not on its pseudogenes.
