Overview

RN7SL100P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 100, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene related to the canonical 7SL RNA, which is a noncoding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[4][6]. The 7SL RNA itself plays an essential role in protein targeting to membranes, but RN7SL100P is categorized as a pseudogene—a genomic sequence resembling 7SL RNA that has been incorporated into DNA likely via retrotransposition and is typically nonfunctional for canonical SRP activity[3][6]. Most 7SL-derived pseudogenes, including RN7SL100P, are truncated or mutated forms and are not expressed as functional RNAs or proteins[3][6]. There is no evidence that RN7SL100P is a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any other typical therapeutic target, nor is it involved in any known disease role, biological function, or drug interactions[4][6]. The presence of multiple 7SL pseudogenes in the genome reflects the evolutionary history of repeats and retroelements, but they do not participate in signal transduction or clinical biomarker applications[3][6]. No information is available regarding RN7SL100P as a safety concern or therapeutic challenge.
