Overview

RN7SL120P is a pseudogene derived from the RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic gene family, specifically referencing a non-functional, sequence variant or truncated copy of the 7SL RNA gene[2][4][7]. Most 7SL pseudogenes in the human genome are the result of reverse transcription and reintegration events; they do not encode active RNAs or proteins and lack known biological functions. The active form, 7SL RNA, is a critical component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) ribonucleoprotein complex and is involved in cotranslational protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum[1][5][6][8]. However, the RN7SL120P locus itself is regarded as non-functional and is not associated with specific therapeutic targeting, disease involvement, biological processes, drug interactions, or biomarker status[2][7].
