Overview

RN7SL122P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 122, pseudogene) is a processed pseudogene related to the 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). Unlike functional 7SL RNAs, this pseudogene is a non-protein-coding remnant in the human genome that does not produce a functional RNA or protein product. 7SL pseudogenes arise from reverse transcription and reintegration of 7SL RNA sequences, but most are transcriptionally inactive and lack biological function[2][5][7].
