Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 145, pseudogene (RN7SL145P) is a pseudogene in the human genome located on chromosome 3[6]. It is classified as a non-coding RNA pseudogene, derived from the functional 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][5]. The SRP plays a key role in the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells[1][3][7]. However, RN7SL145P itself is not a functional gene and is not known to produce a functional RNA or protein product; like other 7SL pseudogenes, it appears to have arisen via retrotransposition and is characterized as a truncated, non-expressed copy of the ancestral 7SL RNA gene[5]. There is no evidence that this pseudogene has a direct biological function, participates in disease, or is a therapeutic target[4][5][6]. Key points: - RN7SL145P is a non-coding pseudogene, not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established biological target[4][5][6]. - No drugs or therapies target RN7SL145P, and it is not cited as a biomarker or safety concern in the scientific literature[4][5]. - There is no evidence supporting roles in disease or other biological functions. This entry should not be considered a canonical target for biomedical research or therapy.
