Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 146, pseudogene (RN7SL146P) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 16 that is part of a large family of 7SL RNA-derived sequences[6][9][4]. 7SL RNA is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), a ribonucleoprotein complex essential for targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells[1]. Unlike the functional 7SL RNA genes, the vast majority of RN7SL-like sequences in the human genome are processed pseudogenes resulting from retrotransposition events and are not known to be transcribed, to produce functional RNA, or to have independent biological or therapeutic relevance[3][7]. There is no evidence that RN7SL146P serves as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical drug target, nor is it currently recognized for involvement in disease or therapeutic modulation[9][6][4][7].
