RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 169, pseudogene (RN7SL169P) is a human pseudogene related to the 7SL RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). Pseudogenes like RN7SL169P are non-protein-coding elements that historically have been considered genomic "relics" or non-functional DNA, as they share sequence similarity with functional genes but contain disablements preventing normal function[1][7][8]. 7SL RNA, from which many such pseudogenes are derived, normally plays a central role in the SRP complex involved in protein trafficking[3][5]; however, most of the hundreds of dispersed 7SL-related pseudogenes in the genome, including RN7SL169P, are not expressed and do not produce a functional RNA or protein product[1][7]. While some pseudogenes can exert regulatory effects *in general* (such as acting as miRNA decoys or producing regulatory RNA fragments[4][6]), there is no evidence that RN7SL169P itself is functional or relevant as a therapeutic target, druggable receptor, or biomarker. RN7SL169P is not considered a classical biological target, nor associated with pathological mechanisms or drug interactions[1][8]. Note: - RN7SL169P is a non-functional pseudogene, not a receptor, enzyme, or recognized drug target. - There is nothing structurally or functionally unique about RN7SL169P compared to thousands of other 7SL RNA-derived pseudogenes in the human genome[7][8]. - No specific clinical or experimental applications, disease associations, or drug interactions are documented for RN7SL169P[1]. - Reporting this as a druggable or biologically significant target would be incorrect.
