These pseudogenes do not produce functional RNA and do not participate in the SRP role[4]. Unlike functional RNAs such as **RN7SL1**, which are essential for protein targeting and have been implicated in disease contexts (cancer, neuroinflammation, antiviral defense)[1][5], **RN7SL178P** is structurally related but classified as a **pseudogene**, meaning it lacks biological function, is not a therapeutic target, and has no known role in pathogenesis or pharmacology[2][4]. These pseudogenes are mainly used to study genomic evolution, transposable elements (Alu family origins)[3], and molecular taxonomy.
