Target intelligence / Profile preview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 186, pseudogene (RN7SL186P)

Target
RN7SL186P
Molecular classification
Non-coding RNA pseudogene, Other (pseudogene family of signal recognition particle 7SL RNA)
01

Overview

RN7SL186P is a non-functional pseudogene encoding a truncated copy of 7SL RNA—the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which mediates cotranslational insertion of secretory proteins into the endoplasmic reticulum. RN7SL186P is one of many 7SL RNA pseudogenes that arose by the reverse transcription and integration of 7SL RNA sequences into the human genome. These pseudogenes do not produce functional RNA transcripts and are not considered relevant for therapeutic targeting or biological research. The true gene, RN7SL1, is important for signal recognition particle function; pseudogenes like RN7SL186P are functionless genomic relics.

Other names
RN7SL186P
02

Mechanism of action

None (No mechanisms of action, as RN7SL186P is not a druggable or biologically active entity.)

03

Biological functions

Other (No biological functions; as a pseudogene, RN7SL186P is not transcribed or functionally active)
04

Disease associations

Other (No reported disease roles; pseudogenes of 7SL RNA are not implicated in disease)
05

Safety considerations

None (No safety concerns, since it is not a functional gene or therapeutic target.)
06

Interacting drugs

None (No drugs interact with pseudogenes such as RN7SL186P. Only the functional 7SL RNA [RN7SL1] is considered in studies on protein targeting and viral life cycles.)
07

Biomarkers

None (RN7SL186P is not used as a biomarker.)
