RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 192, pseudogene (RN7SL192P) is a human pseudogene, specifically a truncated and nonfunctional copy of the 7SL RNA gene, which is originally a component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in targeting proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[6][7][4][5]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL192P arise from reverse transcription of RNA into DNA and re-integration into the genome, but they do not produce a functional product and usually do not have a biological role. RN7SL192P is not a protein-coding gene, nor is it considered a receptor, enzyme, or any canonical therapeutic target. There are hundreds of similar 7SL pseudogenes dispersed in the human genome; most are truncated and nonexpressed, lacking known functional or disease relevance[5][7][4][6]. RN7SL192P is typically included in genomic databases for annotation purposes but is not associated with biological function, disease, or therapeutic targeting.
