Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL214P, are not expressed or translated and do not encode functional products. Recent research suggests some pseudogenes can act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs)—decoys for microRNAs that regulate gene expression—but there is no specific evidence linking RN7SL214P to such a function[4][6].
