RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 214, pseudogene (RN7SL214P) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome that is homologous to the 7SL RNA, which is a component of signal recognition particle (SRP)[1][3][5]. Pseudogenes such as RN7SL214P are typically non-functional copies of genes that have lost their protein-coding ability due to mutations and truncations acquired during their evolution[2][3][5]. Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL214P, are not expressed or translated and do not encode functional products. Recent research suggests some pseudogenes can act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs)—decoys for microRNAs that regulate gene expression—but there is no specific evidence linking RN7SL214P to such a function[4][6]. RN7SL214P is not considered a classical therapeutic target, nor is it known to be involved in any specific disease processes, serve as a biomarker, or interact with any drugs[1].
