The parental 7SL RNA plays a critical role in targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum and regulating translation elongation arrest in all eukaryotes[3][5]. RN7SL236P itself does not encode protein nor participate directly in cellular function and is generally considered genetically inert, although pseudogenes in some contexts may regulate expression of parental genes or affect cancer progression through RNA-mediated mechanisms (competing endogenous RNA, regulatory decoys)[2]. There is no evidence RN7SL236P functions as a receptor, enzyme, or other conventional therapeutic target.
