Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 237, pseudogene (RN7SL237P) is a human noncoding RNA pseudogene annotated as a member of the processed 7SL RNA pseudogene family. 7SL RNA is normally the RNA component of the signal recognition particle, which regulates cellular protein targeting during translation by tethering ribosomes and nascent peptides to membrane pores for proper protein translocation[5][7]. In contrast, the majority of dispersed 7SL-like sequences in the human genome—including RN7SL237P—are pseudogenes resulting from the reverse flow of genetic information (retrotransposition of 7SL RNA) and are structurally truncated with no coding function[3]. These pseudogenes are not expressed as functional RNAs and do not participate in SRP function or cell signaling, and are generally considered genomic fossils without known clinical or biological impact[1][3]. RN7SL237P is not a drug target, does not act as a receptor, enzyme, or biomarker, and has no known disease associations or therapeutic relevance.
