RN7SL252P is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 7 that is part of the family of RN7SL pseudogenes derived from the 7SL RNA gene[6]. The parental gene, RN7SL1, codes for the 7SL RNA, which is the structural RNA essential for the signal recognition particle (SRP). SRP plays a crucial role in directing proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane during translation[3][5][1]. However, as a pseudogene, RN7SL252P does not produce functional RNA or protein and has no established function or clinical relevance. In general, pseudogenes may have regulatory roles—such as acting as “decoys” for miRNAs or as sources of long non-coding RNAs—but there is no direct evidence of any biological, disease, or therapeutic role for this specific pseudogene[2][4].
