Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 290, pseudogene (RN7SL290P) is a human pseudogene sequence highly homologous to the functional 7SL RNA gene, which is the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP). Pseudogenes such as RN7SL290P result from reverse transcription of a functional RNA (in this case 7SL RNA) and integration into the genome. Unlike the parental 7SL RNA, which is fundamental for protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum, RN7SL290P lacks both coding potential and known regulatory function—it is not expressed as a functional RNA and does not encode protein. There is currently no evidence for a biological or disease role, nor interaction with drugs. Pseudogenes are non-coding and generally non-functional genomic relics, and RN7SL290P is not a therapeutic target or receptor[1][3][4].

Mechanism of action

Not applicable (as no drugs interact with this pseudogene)

03

Biological functions

None reliably established (pseudogenes are generally non-functional, though some can regulate gene expression via acting as miRNA sponges in rare cases, not shown for RN7SL290P)
04

Disease associations

None established for RN7SL290P specifically (some pseudogenes are involved in disease as gene regulators, but there is no evidence for RN7SL290P)
05

Safety considerations

None (not a therapeutic target)
06

Interacting drugs

None (there are no drugs known to interact with RN7SL290P)
07

Biomarkers

None (RN7SL290P is not used as a biomarker)
