**RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 329, pseudogene (RN7SL329P)** is a human genomic locus classified as a processed pseudogene of the 7SL RNA component. The 7SL RNA is a non-coding RNA serving as a critical part of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which is responsible for targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. However, as a pseudogene, RN7SL329P does not produce a functional 7SL RNA and is considered non-coding. Most 7SL pseudogenes are truncated and nonfunctional, thought to arise via retrotransposition events[1][3]. While some transcribed pseudogenes may function as competitive endogenous RNAs ("miRNA sponges") or participate in other subtle regulatory mechanisms, there is no current evidence of RN7SL329P acting as a therapeutic target, being involved in disease, interacting with drugs, or serving as a biomarker[1][2][3]. It is primarily of genomic or evolutionary interest, highlighting retrotranspositional processes and the complexity of non-coding elements in the human genome.
