RN7SL33P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 33, pseudogene) is a human genomic locus annotated as a pseudogene related to the 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP)[4][6]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL33P are generally considered non-functional genomic sequences that resemble genuine genes but typically do not produce functional RNA or protein[5][6][8]. While the parent 7SL RNA (e.g., RN7SL1) plays a critical role in protein targeting as part of the SRP ribonucleoprotein complex[1][3][7], pseudogenes such as RN7SL33P do not encode functional SRP RNA molecules. Most 7SL pseudogenes, including RN7SL33P, are truncated or otherwise incomplete copies spread throughout the genome[5][6]. There is no current evidence that RN7SL33P itself has a biological function, role in disease, or pharmacological relevance. Its primary significance lies in being part of a large family of 7SL RNA pseudogenes present in the human genome[5][6][4]. Note: - The rationale for “is_incorrect: true” is that RN7SL33P is not a protein-coding gene, enzyme, receptor, or known therapeutic target, but rather a pseudogene with no demonstrated function, drug interactions, or established disease association[4][5][6][8]. - The confusion may arise from the functional parent gene (7SL RNA, RN7SL1), which is critical for the SRP complex, but RN7SL33P does not encode the functional molecule[1][3][7]. - This entry is incomplete as a therapeutic target and would not be suitable for further drug or biomarker structure-based work.
