RN7SL346P is a **processed pseudogene** found on human chromosome 15, representing a nonfunctional, truncated genomic copy of the 7SL RNA gene[4][7]. 7SL RNA itself is a component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in co-translational targeting of proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[3][5], but RN7SL346P, like most such pseudogenes, does not produce a functional molecule and has no known physiological or disease relevance[1][2][8]. Pseudogenes are often formed by reverse transcription and integration of gene transcripts; although rare pseudogenes may acquire new secondary functions, there is no evidence for any function or involvement in disease for RN7SL346P[2][8]. Its sequence similarity to 7SL RNA can cause confusion or experimental artifact, but it should not be considered a molecular target of pharmacologic, diagnostic, or research interest[8].
