Overview

RN7SL351P is a processed pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex[1]. While the canonical 7SL RNA is essential for SRP-mediated protein translocation to membranes, RN7SL351P itself does not encode a functional RNA or protein and is believed to lack biological activity in humans[1][2]. Unlike functional 7SL RNA (which is ~300 nucleotides and part of the SRP ribonucleoprotein complex), RN7SL351P carries mutations or deletions typical of pseudogenes and is regarded as a noncoding genomic element. No literature indicates direct clinical, drug, or biomarker relevance of RN7SL351P, and its presence in genome annotation primarily reflects evolutionary duplication and inactivation[1][2].
