However, RN7SL382P itself is not transcribed into a functional RNA or translated into a protein, and there is no evidence of its involvement in biological processes or disease pathways[3][9]. Most 7SL-related loci in the human genome are pseudogenes generated by the insertion of 7SL RNA-like sequences back into DNA, resulting in nonfunctional truncated copies[3][5][9]. As a pseudogene, RN7SL382P does not encode for an active receptor, enzyme, or other druggable molecule and is not recognized as a therapeutic target[9].
