The *7SL RNA* is a core component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, essential for directing newly synthesized proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum, but **RN7SL399P** itself is a non-functional, non-coding derivative that does not encode a protein or an active RNA. Pseudogenes such as RN7SL399P generally arise through the process of reverse transcription and integration of cellular RNAs (in this case 7SL RNA), which then lose coding potential and canonical regulatory roles. While some pseudogenes may exert regulatory effects via non-coding RNAs or act as microRNA decoys, *there is no established evidence that RN7SL399P has a confirmed functional or disease-associated role*; it is considered a genomic relic, mainly studied as part of evolutionary biology and the landscape of non-coding elements in the genome.
