Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 402, pseudogene (RN7SL402P) is a pseudogene of the 7SL RNA gene family in humans[1][5][6][7]. The 7SL RNA is a non-coding RNA component of the signal recognition particle, essential for directing secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum, but pseudogenes like RN7SL402P are non-functional, arising from reverse-transcribed 7SL RNA sequences inserted back into the genome[1][5][6][7]. The majority of 7SL-related sequences in the human genome are such pseudogenes, which are generally not transcribed or translated and have no known biological or disease-related function[6][7]. RN7SL402P is not a therapeutic target, enzyme, transporter, or receptor; it should not be considered a molecular target in pharmacological or diagnostic contexts[1][6][7].
