Overview

RN7SL444P (RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 444, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene resembling the 7SL RNA gene. True 7SL RNA is an essential noncoding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in protein targeting to membranes, but RN7SL444P itself is not functional and does not produce a functional RNA product[1][5][6]. Most 7SL pseudogenes—including RN7SL444P—are truncated, non-expressed DNA sequences that arose through the reverse transcription of 7SL RNA and reintegration into the genome[6]. These pseudogenes lack canonical functions and are not targets for drugs, diagnostic, or therapeutic intervention. They are not considered relevant for disease processes, signaling pathways, or other biological functions. Notes: RN7SL444P is sometimes confused with the functional 7SL RNA gene, but as a pseudogene, it lacks biological activity or therapeutic relevance[5][6]. In all major genomic and biomedical databases, it is annotated as a non-functional pseudogene[1]. There is nothing to suggest it is associated with disease, drug interactions, or clinical biomarker potential. Actionable guidance: This entity should not be considered a drug target, biological receptor, or disease biomarker. If you are seeking information on the functional 7SL RNA or the signal recognition particle, refer to the canonical gene, not its pseudogenes.
