Overview

RN7SL451P is a human RNA pseudogene that is structurally related to the gene encoding 7SL RNA, the RNA core of the signal recognition particle. 7SL RNA is essential for protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum and participates in intracellular trafficking as part of SRP[6][7]. However, RN7SL451P is a genetically derived, truncated, and nonfunctional copy inserted in the genome via reverse transcription of 7SL RNA, often retaining only partial sequence similarity and lacking any known biological functions or roles in disease[5][8]. The majority of human 7SL-related loci are pseudogenes like RN7SL451P, which arise from retrotransposition events and are generally not transcribed or functional[5][8]. Only a few 7SL RNA loci encode functional SRP RNA, while most, including RN7SL451P, do not participate in signal transduction, cellular function, or serve as therapeutic drug targets[1][5][8]. If you require structured data for the functional SRP RNA target (RN7SL1), it may be relevant for cancer and immune signaling research[3][6][7]. RN7SL451P is not a target for therapeutic intervention.
