RN7SL456P is a human pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA sequence, which is part of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex and plays a key role in protein targeting and translation in its functional form[3][5]. RN7SL456P itself is a nonfunctional, truncated genomic segment formed by the integration (reverse transcription) of 7SL RNA into DNA, but it does not produce active RNA nor protein, nor does it participate in known cellular or disease-related functions[1][7][6]. Unlike its parent molecule, 7SL RNA, RN7SL456P does not act in translational arrest, protein trafficking, or stress response. While pseudogenes can occasionally regulate parental gene expression by competing for RNA-binding proteins or microRNAs, there is no evidence that RN7SL456P plays such a role[4].
