RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 461, pseudogene (RN7SL461P) is a human non-coding RNA pseudogene located on chromosome 14. It is one of many genomic loci reflecting sequence similarity to the 7SL RNA, a functional noncoding RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), but RN7SL461P itself is not transcribed into a functional RNA or protein[1][4][9][10]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL461P are typically generated through reverse transcription and reintegration of RNA sequences, resulting in truncated or inactivated versions that lack biological function[7][8][10]. Only a few loci in the human genome encode functional 7SL RNA, while the vast majority, including RN7SL461P, are non-functional pseudogenes with no current evidence for roles in cellular processes or disease[7][8][10].
