Overview

RN7SL513P is a member of the large family of 7SL RNA pseudogenes present in the human genome[3]. The 7SL RNA is the functional RNA component of the Signal Recognition Particle (SRP), which is essential for the targeting of secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum during translation[1][5]. RN7SL513P and similar pseudogenes originate from reverse transcription and genomic integration events, resulting in truncated, non-functional copies dispersed throughout the genome[3]. While some pseudogenes are transcribed and may affect regulation of parental genes through RNA-mediated mechanisms, specific evidence for RN7SL513P's transcription, function, or disease involvement is lacking[4][6]. It is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, nor a validated therapeutic target.
