Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 517, pseudogene (RN7SL517P) is a human pseudogene related to the 7SL RNA family, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in targeting proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[1][5][6]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL517P are typically non-functional copies or fragments of genes generated through genomic duplication or retrotransposition events; they generally do not encode functional products and are not considered therapeutic targets, receptors, enzymes, or transporters[4][5][6]. Human genome contains many 7SL-related pseudogenes, which exhibit considerable sequence diversity and truncation, but only a small subset encode functional 7SL RNA[5][6]. There is no evidence this specific pseudogene is involved in disease, drug interactions, molecular targeting, or used in biomarkers or safety assessments.
