RN7SL519P is a processed pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA gene, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex. The functional RN7SL1 RNA plays a central role in co-translational targeting and translocation of newly synthesized proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane by acting as the scaffold of the SRP[1][3][5]. Pseudogenes such as RN7SL519P arise via retrotransposition or other genomic events and typically lack biological activity, regulatory sequences, and coding potential[2][7]. While some pseudogenes can regulate gene networks or act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) in disease, there is no evidence that RN7SL519P plays any such role. It is a genomic remnant of the functional 7SL RNA loci, almost certainly not involved as a receptor, enzyme, or other classical target[2].
