Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 524, pseudogene (RN7SL524P) is classified as a processed pseudogene, a type of noncoding RNA sequence that is homologous to the functional 7SL RNA gene, found within the human genome but believed to lack biological activity due to loss of function[1][2]. Unlike protein-coding genes or functional noncoding RNAs, RN7SL524P does not produce a functional molecule, nor does it participate in the canonical signal recognition particle pathways mediated by 7SL RNA. Most pseudogenes are considered genomic remnants, although some are transcribed and can act as regulators by contributing to the pool of noncoding RNAs involved in gene expression modulation, particularly in certain tissues or disease contexts[4]. There is no evidence that RN7SL524P is involved in pathogenic processes or serves as a biomarker or a pharmacological target.

Biological functions

None established (as a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional molecule with a direct biological role)General pseudogene functions can include potential regulation through small RNA production or acting as a microRNA decoy in some cases
03

Disease associations

None established for RN7SL524P directlySome pseudogenes are implicated in regulatory roles and disease, especially cancer, but there is no specific evidence for RN7SL524P
