**RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 526, pseudogene (RN7SL526P)** is a processed pseudogene and a non-coding RNA locus found in the human genome[1][8]. It is derived from the **7SL RNA gene**, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), crucial for targeting proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells[3][5]. Unlike the functional parental gene, RN7SL526P lacks the ability to encode a functional RNA or protein, due to accumulated mutations and truncations. Most 7SL-related pseudogenes are the result of reverse transcription and genome reintegration events and show a high degree of sequence diversity, often being truncated at the 5′ or 3′ ends[7][8]. 7SL RNA pseudogenes are widespread and generally considered non-functional, though some pseudogenes in general can have regulatory effects on their parental genes or act as "competitive endogenous RNAs" (ceRNAs), influencing gene expression through various mechanisms[2][4]. However, there is no evidence that RN7SL526P has any such functional, regulatory, or disease-associated role. RN7SL526P is not considered a therapeutic target, nor does it have pharmacological interactions, biomarker use, or associated safety concerns documented in the scientific literature[1][7][8].
