Pseudogenes such as RN7SL535P are considered genomic relics originating from reverse transcription events or sequence duplications and are typically **not involved in normal physiology or disease mechanisms**[4][7].[1][3][5][10][11].\n\nA notable feature of the 7SL RNA family is its evolutionary origin from the SRP RNA, which is highly conserved and forms the RNA backbone of the signal recognition particle[7]. In humans, only a few loci encode functional 7SL RNA, whereas **hundreds of loci**, such as RN7SL535P, exist in the genome as pseudogenes[7][3][5]. These pseudogenes do not encode proteins and mostly lack regulatory elements necessary for expression[4]. Some pseudogenes in other contexts have been shown to regulate gene expression, but no such evidence is available for RN7SL535P itself[2][4].
