Overview

RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 539, pseudogene (RN7SL539P) is a pseudogene corresponding to the 7SL RNA gene. The 7SL RNA is an essential component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), which plays a central role in targeting secretory proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum. However, RN7SL539P, as a pseudogene, is a nonfunctional, truncated, or mutated copy dispersed in the genome and does not encode a functional product[4][5]. The majority of 7SL-related loci in the human genome are pseudogenes and do not contribute to canonical SRP activity[5]. As a pseudogene, RN7SL539P has no known direct biological function or disease association and is not considered a therapeutic or pharmacological target[4][5].
