Pseudogenes like RN7SL592P are genomic sequences that resemble functional genes but have accumulated mutations, truncations, or sequence changes that prevent them from encoding functional products. The majority of 7SL RNA-like sequences in the human genome are pseudogenes derived from the reverse transcription of 7SL RNA and reintegration into genomic DNA. RN7SL pseudogenes do not produce functional RNA and do not contribute to protein synthesis, cell signaling, or other classical biological functions. There is no evidence that RN7SL592P acts as a disease modifier, biomarker, or drug target, nor is there evidence of its expression or function in normal or pathological conditions. The parent molecule, 7SL RNA, participates critically in the signal recognition particle (SRP) ribonucleoprotein complex, which mediates co-translational protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum; however, RN7SL592P itself is nonfunctional and is not included in therapeutic or disease pathway considerations.
