RN7SL601P is a human genomic locus annotated as a pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA, which is normally an essential component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), mediating the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum[4][12][11]. However, as a pseudogene, RN7SL601P does not encode a functional 7SL RNA and is viewed as a truncated, non-expressed remnant originating from reverse transcription or duplication of authentic 7SL RNA genes[10]. Pseudogenes like RN7SL601P show structural variation and are dispersed within the human genome, but their role is primarily non-functional, with no validated connection to cellular signaling, protein synthesis, disease, or therapeutic intervention[10][11]. There is no evidence that RN7SL601P participates in canonical RNA-mediated regulatory functions, interacts with drugs, or acts as a biomarker or disease modifier. Thus, it should not be considered a biological target in therapeutic or diagnostic contexts.
