Target intelligence / Profile preview
RNA, 7SL, cytoplasmic 627, pseudogene (RN7SL627P) is a human pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA gene, which normally encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) essential for protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum[1][3][5]. The genomic sequence of RN7SL627P is characterized as a truncated, nonfunctional remnant of 7SL RNA, lacking the capacity to be processed into a biologically active SRP RNA molecule[1][5]. Pseudogenes of the 7SL RNA are abundant in the human genome and generally arise by reverse transcription and genomic integration of RNA transcripts, but do not encode proteins or functional RNAs[1][5]. There is no evidence that RN7SL627P acts as a therapeutic target, encodes a functional product, contributes to specific biological processes, or has any clinical, disease, or drug-interacting relevance[1][5]. While rare examples of pseudogene regulatory activity exist for other pseudogenes, there is no data indicating such functions for RN7SL627P[1][2][4]. The listing of this locus as a target is incorrect; it is not a receptor, enzyme, or other druggable molecule, and should not be categorized as a therapeutic target[1].
